A selection of Tools I use to make my work life easier

There are many tools that I use on a daily, weekly or occasional basis that simply make my work …. Simply. Some of these tools are free, others are low cost and a couple are premium.

I have outlined a small selection of the ones I’m using RIGHT NOW (yes I multi-task) here for you to consider whether they may be appropriate for your business.

Canva.com

Cost: Free (some images have a cost associated – read on to find the secret to avoiding the costs.

Purpose: Create designs quickly and easily. The templates are pre sized and there are grids to simplify the layouts. The tutorial videos are particularly useful.

My bonus tip: Grab my Guide “Free sources for images suitable for Commercial Use” and upload your own images to avoid needing to pay the $1 per image fees.

Speech To Text (Android App: Developer: Heterioun Inc)

Cost: Free

Purpose: Create text documents on “the fly”. I also have Dragon Dictation (Premium Software) but I find the Speech to Text app “learns” my Australian voice faster and there are less corrections required.

My bonus tip: Speak a little bit slower than normal. Make allowance that the first couple of words after a silence may be missed, as the app “wakes up”. Also, be sure to check carefully where the document is saved.

Snip.ly

Cost: Free

Purpose: Streamlined promotion to capitalise on the sharing of quality content

My bonus tip: Automate the process in the settings so you can maximise the potential

pdfescape.com

Cost: Free

Purpose: To complete or create PDF Forms online, even when they are not “clickable” fields

My bonus tip: Keep it handy

coggle.com

Cost: Free

Purpose: Mind Mapping Software to assist with the organisational thought processes

My bonus tip: If the connected lines become too “messy” click/hold and drag the data boxes to create additional space.
